Prince FM boss, others to headline Ogunbusola School Competition

All is set for the second edition of Journalist Olawale Ogunbusola School Competition.

The event is slated for Thursday, November 2, 2023   at the National Museum of Unity, Aleshinloye, Ibadan, Oyo State, commencing by 8. 00 a.m.

The annual event, which is approved by the Oyo State Government, gathers 10 to 20 schools across five local government areas of the state.

The programme  exposes students of junior and senior schools academically for competence and composure and honours high-profile personalities.

The programme will  be moderated by acting Head of News, Inspiration 100.5FM, James Odediran and a former presenter with IBR92.5FM, Tunde Olawuyi.

The Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abdulwaheed   Adelabu will  deliver a keynote lecture titled: ” Sustaining Educational Standard in Oyo State’’.

Also, the Deputy Director of  Programmes, Voice of Nigeria {VON}, Mrs Olubunmi Oshoteku will speak on the theme: ” Rape: Curbing the menace in Nigeria”.

The quiz competition and award, which will have in attendance students of Community High School, Airport; Isabatudeen Girl’s High School, General Gas, Ibadan; Ibadan Boy’s High School, Oke Bola;  T.L Oyesina Monatan; Bishop Phillip’s High School; Loyola College;  Holy Trinity; Army Barrack’s School;  Aseyori Schools and Community High School, Isebo.

The participating students will be between 12 and 14 years. The students’   knowledge in English, Mathematics, and general knowledge in a multiple choice will be tested. Winners among them be given awards.


The Oyo Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke; Prince 89.7 FM founder, Prince Babatunde Balogun;  Registrar, (Exams)TESCOM, Mr Johnson Awodeji;  Benevolence Publishers,Dele Akinbode;  Henley and Ascot Company, Lagos State;  a globally revered artist, Prince Tunde Odunlade; Naijatodaynews Publisher, Prince Adetunji Fabode; Crest91.1FM’s correspondent, Olufolajimi Akinnawo; a TVC journalist, Adewale Ojedokun, among others would be given awards  for their contributions to the society.

The convener of the event,  Olawale Ogunbusola disclosed that the winners in the first  Season of the competition would  receive their prizes.

Ogunbusola, who assured of better 2023 outing, appreciated his sponsors, all media stations, organizations, individuals, and corporate bodies, including D Batik Gallery Studio, Spring fort Investment, Henley and Ascot, lawmakers for their support.

Other dignitaries expected at the event  include the member representing Egbeda at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olasunkanmi Babalola;  Hon. Yusuf Adebisi{Oyo State lawmaker}, Registrar, Educational Peace Advancement, Nigeria, and lecturer, Espam-Formation University, Benin Republic,  Dr. Tayo Adegunju; the  Chairman, Association of Resident Governor’s Office Correspondents {AGORC} and The Nation correspondent, Mr . Yinka Adeniran, the Curator, National Museum of Unity, Aleshinloye, Ibadan, Mrs Otuka Oriyomi;  a reporter with BBC, John Alabi;  Arise TV’s Adesunmbo Samson and Olutayo Famous-Cole.

Others are Prince FM Head of Operations, Pastor Adewale Adeiwa, as well as his counterpart, Mrs. Boluwaji Ogunyemi;  Daily Independent’s Kazeem Awojoodu,YesFM’s Banke Bello, Vanguard’s Adeola Badru and a host of others.
