Internationally acclaimed Borno documentary photographer, Fati Abubakar, has reacted after a man told her that ‘she is pretty for a dark skin girl.’

“A short unattractive man with a pot belly is calling “pretty for a dark skin girl”. Unbelievable. And men wonder why girls bleach. It’s because you tell them things like this and only seem to find light skin worthy of praise and love. Colorism is too rampant in Nigeria,”  she wrote in a post on Thursday, February 15.
